Own your career Program
KICK OFF YOUR FUTURE – Own Your Career Program is an educational project for young female university students between the 3rd year of their undergraduate and 1st year of their Master’s degree at four Universities in Milan: PoliMI, Bicocca, Bocconi and Cattolica.
The Program – now in its eighth edition – was created by PWN Milan, a professional women’s association that operates in the realms of networking, leadership, gender diversity, mentoring, and implemented with the support of the companies BCG, AstraZeneca, and Prelios.
The Program aims to build a bridge between universities and the world of work, enriching the transition from female student to fully-fledged professional, a delicate moment full of expectations and incognitos. By means of Program activities, PWM Milan aims to stimulate female students into embracing the full potential of this unique moment of their personal and professional life, helping them to experience it as the starting point of a new challenge, with energy and a desire to rise up to the challenge, so that dreams and hopes triumph over fears and insecurities.
In detail, the Program gives female students the chance to meet different women role models working for the partners’ companies, listen to their professional experience and participate to mini workshops guided by PWN Milan on various topics, amongst which human leadership, personal branding, negotiation and how to nail a job interview, all designed to boost their soft skills.
30 female students will be selected for each edition and will participate in the Program following the same training path of scheduled meetings and workshops.

The step in which a female student becomes a fully-fledged professional: a delicate moment filled with expectations and incognitos. Embracing its potential, experiencing it as the starting point of a new challenge, with energy and a desire to rise up to the challenge, is fundamental in making sure dreams and hopes triumph over fears and insecurities.
Through KICK OFF YOUR FUTURE – Own Your Career Program, PWN Milan renews its roles as a catalyst of innovative female projects, building a bridge between universities and the world of work.
MISSION

Stimulate ambition and the desire to rise up to the challenge. Build a personal and professional growth path. Contribute towards reinforcing the self-esteem and professionalism of young women who are about to enter the world of work, with initiative and determination.
TARGET
Female university students with a proven motivation and interest in the program, in the third year of their undergraduate degree or first year of a Master’s degree of study paths in economic, scientific-technological fields, at four Universities in Milan – PoliMI, Bicocca, Bocconi, Cattolica.
FORMAT
Female students come to the company to meet 5 role model women, listen to their professional experience and participate in mini workshops guided by PWN. 30 female students will be selected and divided into 2 mixed university groups that will follow the same training path, simultaneously.
TOPIC
Soft skills target.
In addition to keynote speeches by role models there will also be workshops on negotiation, leadership, personal branding and how to nail a job interview.
PARTNERS
PWN is the program owner, a professional women’s network active in the fields of leadership, gender diversity and mentoring. Program partners include role model Companies, with the support of Universities participating female students come from.
